You know they'll turn out lesbians and single women too, right?

Well, there goes civilization. Single women and lesbians no longer being made to jump through unnecessary and arbitrary hoops in order to be allowed to conceive through IVF? These sick, perverted, man-less misandrist harridans (which is, let's face it, what all single women and lesbians are) are to be allowed to procreate?

Of course, we were never able to really stop them having kids, but at least if they wanted to avoid allowing themselves to be impregnated by a stranger we could make them pretend to be in a relationship with a man - and psychologically or physically ill - first. Now they're going to be allowed to use this technology to become parents without even turning their life into a lie or being made to feel that there is something wrong with them at the outset. Is that really what we want for our children?

Remember, all children have the right to both a mother and a father, even if that's self-evidently, obviously not the case and has never been so throughout recorded human history.

And this legislation will simply enable more children to be born to people so dedicated to them that they'd go through the pain and trauma of the difficult and drawn-out IVF process. These people are guaranteed, with all that dedication and commitment, to be worse parents than those couples who can and do simply conceive by accident. THOSE conceptions are the ones governments ought to be encouraging and rewarding.

But we've turned down a darker path.

First we let women who are going to have abortions anyway do so safely in hospitals, and now we're going to let committed women who don't even have the decency to pretend to have a man have children. Thank God all of the Liberals (except one) are still, in 2008, prepared to vote against this sort of insidious legislation. But they're not in Government.

I weep for our future, I really do.
