While the sting's all fresh in their minds, I'd just like to once again thank the right wing of the Victorian ALP (and voters who don't bother checking a party's Senate ticket before voting above the line, and the Senate voting system for not allowing preferences above the line) for giving us Steven Fielding in 2004. Isn't it fun when a senator only 1.9% of Victorians voted for (in place of one five times as many people voted for) is able to shut debate down like this? I look forward to more of his undemocratic holding of the country to ransom over the next few years. What horribly unjust little deals will he be able to force out of the government in return for his vote? Isn't it exciting just wondering?
Of course, in asking the ALP Right to really feel the consequences of what they did, I'm assuming that they actually care about measures to redirect funding from the private to the public health systems. It's possible (likely even, given previous form) that they simply don't give a stuff.
In summary: I look forward to dancing on your political grave in 2010, Stevie. You unrepresentative, sneaky, corrupt little hack.
