One step too far.

Okay, I loves me some Guitar Hero as much as the next guy who doesn't have a real electric guitar, but this proposed keyboard peripheral for the latest such game is just one step too far.

Come ON. That's a brightly-coloured child's xylophone, such as you might see in a toy store in the newborn to 18 months section.

Obviously I'm not the world's greatest pianist. (Evidence.) But six keys in infantile bright colours is an insult to even hacks like me. Okay, there's only five buttons on the also rather toy-like original guitar peripheral, but at least that's only to be used by one hand; the simplification of a keyboard down to six keys seems worse because it's supposed to be used by two. Maybe that's why this one bothers me more.

In any case, the thought of the thing being seriously purchased and played by late twentysomethings gives me the heebie-jeebies. DO NOT LET THIS SUCCEED, I beg you.
