More expensive and now a day late? Oh, come on.

Alright, that's it. The Age has traditionally been the newspaper I read. I grew up with it. It isn't published by Murdoch. Several writers whose work I greatly enjoy are exclusively published in it.

But I'm sick of it being a day behind the Hun. Throughout this week, perusing both the Hun and the Age in the cafe downstairs over lunch, I've noticed stories from the Hun appearing in the Age the following day. Half a dozen of them, pictures included. It's not that The Age didn't think they were newsworthy on the day the Hun published them: it just hadn't found out about them yet!

That's a pretty unforgiveable sin for a newspaper.

Add to that the fact that The Age has raised its price recently, whilst reducing the quantity and quality of its news reporting, and no wonder people are giving up on it.

Also, the sensationalist, offensive idiocy of the Hun is very good blogging fodder.

I wish it didn't have to be this way, Fairfax, but we're growing apart. Yes, I have been seeing other newspapers. Maybe it's time for a bit of a break. It's not me, it's you.
