It was a difficult task and, if my ego were not so enormous, one which would possibly have been chucked aside in favour of something more productive than narcissistic navel-gazing. A year's worth of this blog is quite a lot of text. Verbose, often repetitive text. (I keep forgetting what subjects I've already covered.)
And, of course, 2006 was the year in which we first got Polly, so hunting through the year's posts involved being subjected to one nauseatingly cute kitten photo after another.
Anyway, the following were, I think, the posts I most enjoyed writing in the last twelve months:
- Aussie battler who Made Good dies suddenly and unexpectedly of his ninth heart attack (27/12/5)
- Australia Day (26/1/6)
- Grasshopper! (2/2/6)
- Commonwealth Games (14/2/6)
- Cheney And His Gun - An Old-School Text Adventure (15/2/6)
- Me Poet! Me Write Elokwent! (22/2/6)

- DISASTER! (27/3/6)
- Naughty Kitty (29/3/6)
- Thank God (31/3/6)

- My time is at hand! (6/6/6)
- Irony (7/6/6)

- Shopping Bargain Of The Year (9/7/6)
- Dear John #1 (21/7/6)

- New History (18/8/6)
- Global TV and Marketing Phenomenon dies suddenly (5/9/6)
- Australian Larrikin Values Ambassador (5/9/6)
- Five Years Of Success (11/9/6)

- Senate passes glorious new media laws! (13/10/6)
- Dams and Nukes (19/10/6)
- Fundies First campaign launch (30/10/6)
- But... but, don't you see? We're making fun of GREER! You HATE Greer! Why are you all so angry? (17/11/6)
- I would never have expected it to happen here (6/12/6)
- Landeryou gets his man (15/12/6)
A few things are obvious from that list. For one, I need to cut down on the waffle. For another, it'd probably be good to have more strings than simple snippy sarcasm to my bow. And most of all, what the hell's with the arrogance of a blogger who, asked to find three decent blog posts, comes up with a list of 29 of them?
Those issues notwithstanding, I'd quite appreciate your advice. Which three posts should I submit to Troppo? (I'm inclined to pick 2, 9, 14 or 22.) Which did you find
