Look over there!

Oh, dear. Seventeen people have been arrested in overnight "terror" raids. Why? Can't say? Well, I'm sure they were plotting against us in some insidious way.

Now, let's concentrate on this issue and forget about everything else going on this week.

In other news, Sir Humphrey has some shocking news about seventy-six Russian diplomats being involved in espionage. We'd better deport them immediately. Noisily.

And look! A shiny penny!

UPDATE: If it were really all about stopping terrorists (who were under close observation and would have been caught the second they pulled on their explosive rucksacks anyway) - then why the media tip-off? Hardly helpful in terms of quickly and unexpectedly catching terrorists. Makes it seem awfully like a politically-convenient stunt, doesn't it?

Anyway, just remember, this is not the crucial issue right now. If they're terrorists, they've been caught. It's a criminal matter now - there's little for the rest of us to debate. And we're not going to be voting in a year and a half on whether terrorists are bad or not.

We are going to be voting on the IR legislation being rushed through this week, though. Let's not forget the more important things about which we can do something, eh?.
